Even though we’ve had to slash our spending and cut wardrobe allowances during the recession, there are some essential grooming needs that have to be maintained. A case in point? Our hair. But these are challenging times and we all have to practise being prudent so we’ve searched the country looking for good-quality hair salons who’ve cut their prices in response to the current downturn – and rightly so!
You can check out our frugal findings in the January/February magazine, but we’re looking for even more great suggestions for our next issue.

Was driving through Mountrath in Co Laois yesterday and spotted a beauty and hair salon on the main street called the Sanctuary which had an ad in the window for a blowdry for a very frugal E15, beat that if you can! Happy New Year to all our readers.
I just might……Robert Chambers were doing €10 blow drys before Christmas – Here’s hoping they’ll make a come back!

Halo on Stephens Green are doing a full head of highlights for 99€ and half head for 79€ at the moment…its great as its not restricted to any time of the day. I got mine done on a thurs even and a friend got hers done on a sat afternoon. They also give you a free hair treatment
