Bargains Galore at Golden Discs

Next Sunday is Valentine’s Day and if you’re not in a relationship, that doesn’t mean you can’t have a laugh with your girlfriends on the day. So with that in mind, a trip to Liffey Valley for a cup of coffee with a friend on Sunday resulted in me building up my romantic movie arsenal for the weekend ahead!

I wandered into Golden Discs while waiting for my pal and found that they have a mega DVD sale on, so I went into a bit of a film frenzy. I bought The Devil Wears Prada, My Best Friend’s Wedding, 27 Dresses – all for a fiver each, Breakfast at Tiffany’s (€6) Desperado (cos I love Antonio Banderas particularly in this film) for €5 and the 20th anniversary edition of Dirty Dancing which has interviews with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey about the movie etc – for €8.

Okay then I lost the plot completely and bought a few less girly movies, including Snatch and The Hustler (with Paul Newman) and two Irish flicks, My Left Foot and The Commitments – all for the grand total of €53. Not bad for 10 films, next now I have to stock up on wine and chocolates and then we’re all set for Sunday. Yay!
