Café is Streats ahead of the rest in Portlaoise

On a brief trip to Tipp last week doing research for a friend’s impending nuptials in July, we stopped off for coffee and refreshments at a café off the Dublin Road in Portlaoise where we snacked on tasty sandwiches, soups and good coffee.

The place was spotless and the service attentive – obviously the owners have invested in good training as staff were friendly, helpful and ever watchful of all of the customers in the café in case anyone was in need of a coffee top-up. We had lunch specials for €8 plus some coffees and tea, and one person had a baked potato with bacon and cheese. The whole lot came to €29.55 which we thought was reasonable for three. So well done to Streats Café and to Martin and Anthony who provided the great service on the day we were there.
